I'm a big Kong fan, and Hated the 76 version.
I had misgivings about sitting for an hour before Kong made an appeaerance in the new movie, but the time goes by VERY fast, and they just did an amazing job on Kong 2005.
Well worth every penny spent for the tickets, and best movie I've seen in a theater sonce probably Return of the King.
And not seeing this in a theater is doing HUGE disservice to yourself.
I can't say enough good things about it, so I'll stop.

Just saw it this afternoon. If you love Kong or love the original, then I would think you'd love this version as well.
Personally, Kong never did that much for me, so neither did this movie. It was entertaining and well made, but I wasn't blown away by it. It was fun to watch once, but I won't be buying the DVD or anything like that.

Not seeing this on a big screen seems like a massive waste.....And ugh to the effects of the 76 version.

Saw a lot of the work in progress at SDCC and we got a Tenacious D concert after the previews, so that'll hold me for now.
